Is it time to sell, or is it time to buy. The answer could be both as the housing market in Orlando is showing a healthy growth this year, but could dip into 2019.
The US is down, but Orlando is up
According to the National Association of Realtors, overall existing home sales (not new construction) declined throughout most of the United States by mid-year. Interestingly, however, Orlando prices continued up, just slightly slower than earlier in the year.
This is great news for sellers that want to fetch a higher price.
Even better news, the Orlando housing affordability index in August was 129.58. According to the World Property Journal,
"An affordability index of 99 percent means that buyers earning the state-reported median income are 1 percent short of the income necessary to purchase a median-priced home. We all want to make the most money out of listing and selling a home. Typically, however, home improvements do increase the home's value, and spending a little money, can get you a bigger return. We're not talking complete kitchen remodels here.
Here are four inexpensive improvements that can increase the likelihood of selling your home faster.
A fresh coat of neutral paint does wonders for improving your home, both inside and out. While you may love bold colors, it doesn't mean a potential buyer does. Stick with neutrals for exterior and interior. Pops of color can be added on outdoor trim, or with decorations inside the house.
Updating door handles, drawer pulls, and cabinet knobs give your home a modern look. It doesn't have to cost much and can be easy to do in just a few hours.

Part of selling or buying a new home is the packing and moving. Before you pack, however, decluttering should be done. Getting rid of things you don’t use or don’t need will make the packing smoother and more organized. Here are a few ways to declutter before you move.
How many kitchen gadgets do you have that serve only one purpose? And is one that you use often? If not, it could go. Things like an apple corer/peeler/slicer are only good for the apples. The same job can be done by a vegetable peeler and a knife, and take up a lot less room. There’s a gadget for everything out there (watermelon slicer, anyone?) If you’re not using it, or it doesn’t serve multiple functions, like a good kitchen knife, it’s time to go.
The same can be said for cookware. Make sure you have a good set of pots and pans. Anything with broken handles or a chipped cooking area, it’s no longer safe.

It's October, and while the leaves may not be falling in Central Florida just yet, there's still plenty of Halloween themed activities to do for some Fall Fun.
Jack's Corn Maze & Pumpkin Patch recently opened in the Clermont area. Located at 16813 Schofield Road, they are offering family fun on the weekends. Activities include pony rides, hay rides, a corn maze, pumpkin patch and food and drinks. Read more about them here.
A long-standing tradition, Long & Scott's farm has a corn maze open on the public on the weekends through November. Located in Zellwood, the farm is about a 25-minute drive from Clermont. We know not everyone has a credit score in the 800s. Even credit scores in the 700s might be a lofty goal for some individuals. Even your credit is in the 500 range, you may still be able to buy home.
Knowing is Half the Battle
If you’re following the 5 Steps to take Before Buying a Home, you know that knowing your credit score is step 1. But that doesn't mean you have to stop there if it's not in the good to great range. It just means you now know what you're armed with when you go for financing.
Fix then Finance
Once you know where the bad credit stems from, you can start working on fixing your credit score. Look it over carefully. Are there any inaccuracies? If so, you can file a dispute to have this removed from your credit history. Keep in mind, there are three credit agencies that report, Experian, TransUnion, and Equifax.
